Board Member
Morrie Morrison
Anna “Morrie” Morrison is a lifelong musician who’s been creating noise (the good kind) since they were a toddler, starting piano at an age most kids are still figuring out how to tie their shoes. An adolescent convert to choral singing and orchestral percussion, they found a love for ensemble musicianship as well as expanding their artistry to include more eccentric instruments like hammered dulcimer and accordion. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano at Northern Michigan University, Morrie relocated to Los Angeles to achieve their Masters in Arts Management at Claremont Graduate University. They now thrive in LA juggling a dynamic mix of gigs in event production and management. While their primary role is with The Music Center, they’re kept busy with side projects that have included collaborations with DTLA Proud, Red Bull, Insomniac, Missy Elliott, and more. When not orchestrating the next big shindig they're helping small arts organizations strategize growth and greater impact, most notably with DTLA Proud as one of their greatest passions is creating spaces for the queer community to connect and spread joy. Outside the world of music and event planning you can find Morrie sewing their next head-turning and question-raising look, or wrapped in a hammock and a good book deep in the woods. Always eager to make new friends and connect with strangers, approach with caution but expect a riot of a good time if you dare.
